Opening Scenes and Setting - Conclusion

My analysis has shown that another key purpose of opening sequences, regardless of genre, is to introduce settings to the audience. Often a filmmaker will show isolation of a setting, to create negative expectations about the location for the audience.

I will consider foregrounding setting in my opening sequence, depending on which genre I choose to work in.
