My Chosen Genre - Horror

Now that I’ve looked at a range of different opening scenes for films from different genres I have realised that the conventions remain reasonably consistent. Looking at opening sequences from different genres has helped me decide which genre I want to work in, and I have chosen the horror genre.

I am going to conduct some detailed research into the genre, looking at a number of different aspects of film that I feel can be influenced by the genre that a movie belongs to. Once I have researched the horror genre in detail, I will look at some opening sequences of horror films to see if the conventions I have spotted are affected by genre.
