Analysing Opening Scenes - 'Inglourious Basterds'

The fourth opening scene I will be looking at is from 'Inglourious Basterds', a war film directed by Quentin Tarantino.

The scene contains the following conventions commonly found in opening sequences: 

• Production company logos/idents 
• Titles - including cast and crew, names of production companies, the title of the film
• Introduces one of the main characters (the antagonist)
• Introduces setting
• Creates enigma/mystery
• Reflects the genre through iconography
