Opening Scenes and Enigma - Introduction

One final purpose I noticed when looking at opening sequences was the creation of enigma or mystery. In the next few posts I will be looking at films that foreground the creation of enigma and analyse how they do this. I will look at the opening scenes for 'Buried' and 'The Usual Suspects'.
